We stopped off at The Salwey on a busy Saturday evening hoping for some dinner, and luckily for us Ben was able to squeeze us in for a table! Beautifully decorated and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere met us as we walked through the doors. They have a huge beer garden with a brilliant little play-area for children which our 3 year thoroughly enjoyed! My husband and I both ordered the sirloin steak, and both were cooked to absolute perfection, exactly how we asked for them. I already can’t wait for our next visit, and have my eye on a few of the wonderful desserts on offer!
We have eaten in the Salwey on several occasions whilst visiting our daughter and her family in Ludlow and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is nice with good service and delicious food. I would personally recommend the lamb with bacon & leek mash. Beer garden is great too. The new owners are very friendly and doing a great job.
We only stayed for a single night but the room was clean and well-furnished. The staff were friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed our breakfast, which was included in the room rate. The hotel is close to the A49 but it quietens down fairly early and it didn't disturb us. The room wasn't air-conditioned but it was fine even though it was a warm day. It's only a few minutes to Ludlow. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
