Me and my friends stayed 4 nights we booked the whole house out to participate in the Rock and Hop at Caroline Bay. The house is situated in a brilliant location very central to everything. Gerald was very helpful and a wonderful host. We were all impressed with the continental breakfast and the delicious biscuits that were available. We would fully recommend this place.
It was an okay stay. A mix up because we were initially booked into another property, but between the time of booking and our stay the original property (Whispering Sands) was switched to long term tenants only. We got a text telling us about the new place months ago, but the day before email confirmation still had all the old address info, so finding the new place was confusing. Room was fine; clean, but nothing too exciting. Shared bathroom was clean, though I can imagine it gets pretty busy when all the rooms are full (we only saw one for all upstairs rooms). Never met our host. Not a bad stay, but probably won’t be back.
The owner is very rude and grumpy. If you like that kind of attitude as a guest go for it mate. I travel via Timaru every month for work, I will never stay here. But very clean and tidy.
