The Sands Khao Lak by Katathani SHA Extra Plus

A 5 star hotel resort right at the beach. Ample entertainment for the kids and pretty laid back atmosphere. Would recommend coming here. Why 4 stars on room and service? Small things that would make it perfect. The room is spacious and has all amenities, but feels somewhat basic and generic in terms of look and feel. It's definitely not bad, just not my taste. The service is always friendly and good, but from a 5 star hotel that charges a hefty premium on food and beverage you expect that food and/or beverages are served all together, all at the same time. We had often more than not that ordered food came at different moments, meaning we were eating in turns in stead of together. Also, drinks (cans/bottles) need to be served in coolers with this warm weather. We had a great time and it's also great they have active pool attendance that make sure slides and water activities are fun and safe for everyone - including the little kids.

We have just spent 10 days in this resort and we cannot fault anything, the staff were amazing. I celebrated my birthday and we had our wedding there and the staff could not do enough for us, it was perfect. We were in the rooms with a beautiful pool directly outside which was amazing. We loved it enough to book again next year.
