Our party of 4 (2 twin rooms) have just got back from a stay at the Savoy. Lovely hotel. Rooms very nice. My friend and I stayed in more like a family room with double and 2 single beds. The other 2 of our party had a 3 single bed room. Facilities of our room good. The only let down was the shower. We just couldn't get the temperature right. It was always scolding hot. The only man in our group tried and thought he had it sorted but again scolded my arm when getting in. Told the manager on second day and he said he had sorted it and not to adjust the controls. Still got scolded on same arm and had to dodge the water just using it to splash over. Scolding hot it felt like I had poured a kettle over my arm. Luckily not too burned and savolon is helping to take heat out of arm. (Room 21). Our other 2 in the party were on the other side of the hotel. Although the hotel had 2 lifts servicing each side for the upper floors, the lift on their side was out of commission. We were told it had only just failed the day before when in fact it had been out of action for more than 3 weeks. Hotel staff very helpful, polite and friendly. Breakfast fantastic and location really good. We will go back. But hopefully these issues sorted.
Visited and stayed at The Savoy Hotel, Skegness, to attend a private function in the hotel's function room. The function room was a good size and nicely self-contained with a (cash only) bar. The drinks glasses weren't very clean though. We then stayed over for bed and breakfast. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, so no complaints there. The breakfast was a limited buffet style with table service for cooked Full English breakfast, which was freshly cooked. In all, perfectly adequate and reasonably priced at £99 for the night for 2 in a double room with a view to the rear of the hotel (not sea view). The staff were friendly. The hotel has a small car park to the rear with pre-booking advised (extra £7 cost). The hotel is centrally located on the main promenade with most attractions close by. Not outstanding but okay and I would consider returning.
On first glance the hotel looks OK but we soon found that there were things that could improve On the whole the hotel feels clean. Toilet takes 10 minutes to fill Bed was hard and uncomfortable but I know that's down to personal taste. The soap dispenser in the shower falls off the wall and isn't much use The towels are hung over the toilet The view could be amazing if the windows were cleaner Breakfast was OK Tea and coffee is provided in the room and can be refilled On the whole , not a bad place to stay just a few improvements needed.
