The Scott Hotel was beautifully renovated and not at all stuffy. Our bedroom had one of the most comfortable beds I'd ever slept in, and the bathroom was large, modern, and very clean. Our room looked out over a garden and was very quiet and peaceful. The lounge and dining areas were gorgeous, and the breakfast was quite good. Very convenient to the Univ of Edinburgh dorms, which was a plus for us, and about a 10-min cab ride from New Town. Highly recommended!
This hotel is absolutely beautiful—full of historic charm blended with modern style. Our room was clean, spacious, and overlooked the gardens, which made for a peaceful stay. The location was spot on: close to Arthur’s Seat and just a quick ride to the Royal Mile and the Castle. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The one downside? No elevator. Getting our luggage up two flights of narrow, winding staircases in an older building was a bit of a struggle—especially after a long day of travel. So just a heads up if mobility or heavy bags are a concern. That said, we’d absolutely stay here again. The charm and comfort far outweighed the inconvenience, and it was a memorable stop on our Scotland adventure.
I've booked a room for 2 nights in this wonderful place, because I love the property, it looks cool. However: 1) When I tried to change my dates due to the family reasons - I was unable to do that. Rejected. 2) When I called the property few times - no response. 3) When I called next day - it took me 5 minutes to explain what I need as nobody tried to even understand what I need. 4) When I've been promised that manager will call me on my number within few hours - nobody called within 24 hours... 5) When I requested to provide me the alternative space for different dates but from the same hotel group of the University - rejected. 6) When I requested the refund as it's not cheap place - rejected. As a manager by profession, it feels like zero management involved here and zero client orientation. Pity experience of communication during 3 days. Result - negative.
