I don’t understand why The Sense Resort Kanchanaburi has bad reviews. I went there recently on October 27, and it was the perfect escape. The moment I stepped into my room, I was blown away by the stunning river views. The infinity pool was the ideal place to relax and soak up the sun – the views were breathtaking, and the water was so refreshing. The room itself was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. I especially loved the breakfast and activities like kayaking, surfing, bicycling, and even gem mining – all of it was free! The spa treatments were also incredibly relaxing. I can’t wait to come back!
The place is very nice as a whole. Has to be very careful if you come with children though because there aren't many rails both in the balcony in the room, around the pool and near the stairs. Bathtub does take a long time to fill up because it is very big too. The staffs are really helpful and friendly and this place is pet friendly.
For the price range there are some problems. Higher prices demand higher standards. 1. Even though this resort is not too old, it already looks run down in some areas. Especially the water features around the "lake houses" have issues. The water is not regularly cleaned and has a dirt film floating on top. 2. The water pressure in the shower is very low. 3. The warm water heater is not strong enough to heat the water in the shower. This is becoming a problem once the cold season in Thailand starts and the temperature is dropping below 15 degrees in the night. Then the morning shower is very "refreshing", not to say cold. 4. The communication with the hotel staff is sometimes difficult, even for a native Thai person.
