Such a great experience at this hotel! Everyone was amazing! The beds and bathrooms are 10/10. The hospitality was unmatched. Really appreciate how Katherine and Benjamin made sure we were well taken care of along with all the staff. I had to try and get them to say no to any request our group had and never heard it. The food was delicious, especially breakfast. The rooftop offered a breathtaking view with amazing prices. It was a spectacular experience and the highlight of my trip! Katherine is someone I will always remember.
I highly recommend The Shanghai Edition. I stayed there recently and had a truly excellent experience. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day in the city. The à la carte breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel: delicious, varied, and thoughtfully prepared. The location is another big plus — very central, with amazing views of the river from the sky bar, especially at sunset. As someone who loves running, I really appreciated being so close to some spectacular riverside routes along the Pudong — it’s a dream for anyone who likes to start the day with a good run. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the shared spaces in the hotel are quite dark. It’s a stylistic choice that might not be for everyone. But honestly, everything else is so well done that it hardly matters. Definitely a place I’d stay at again and recommend to others without hesitation.
***Instagram TikTok Hotel*** Every day, you'll see many nearly naked girls taking pictures in the lobby. The lobby is loud because it has a bar. There’s no 5-star service, and nobody speaks English well, even though it’s a Marriott hotel🙄. The food is mediocre, and breakfast is just okay. Everything looks good in pictures. *Location* — unless you want to be stuck on the same street every day. Good luck surviving the crowd and motorcycle traffic. Calling a Didi and hopping on and off will be a disaster since there’s no dedicated drop-off area; everyone honks around you, and it can take over 10 minutes just to get out of there. Suites are lovely, but lower-level rooms are cramped and dark. Definitely overpriced. You’ll see many foreigners, mainly unaware of the high prices, or maybe they’re Marriott points users. Also, all 5-star reviews might be from the same group. I could go on. I’ve stayed at the J Hotel, the Bvlgari Hotel, the Aman, and the Mandarin Oriental in Shanghai. And I can say the SH Edition has the worst concierge service ever.
