The Slate Hotel – Tapestry Collection by Hilton is one of downtown Denver’s most thoughtfully designed properties — and truly not to be overlooked. From the moment you walk into the welcoming lobby and modern bar, it’s clear this hotel was built with intention and style. The flexible event spaces feel elevated and unique — think library-inspired design, rich textures, and smart touches like floor-to-ceiling drape to define the room. Outside, the patio deck with a fire pit and cozy seating creates a warm, relaxed environment that’s ideal for gatherings. We booked this hotel for its layout and vibe — and were pleasantly surprised by just how exceptional the cuisine and catering turned out to be. Every dish was seasonal, fresh, and beautifully presented. For our standing reception, they served bite-sized options with thoughtful descriptions and genuine smiles. Guests raved all night. The culinary team clearly takes pride in their work, and it shows. Whether you’re hosting a social event, meeting, or full buyout, The Slate offers design-forward spaces, standout food, and an experience that feels both polished and personal. A true hidden gem across from the Convention Center.
We came down to Denver for a mother-daughter weekend, and the hotel was absolutely great! Specifically Spyke, one of your valet attendants. He was incredibly helpful and very understanding! The only issue we had was how expensive the valet parking was, so we found another lot about half a block away from the hotel. We could only pay for 12 hours at a time and he was very helpful with our parking issue. He was great to visit with as well! The rest of the staff was great as well! Rooms are nice and clean too! Highly recommend!
My room was incredibly well priced for its proximity to the convention center, but it was also on the first floor (essentially subterranean) and had no natural light. There were what looked like two windows at the very top, but no light came through them. Aside from the fallout shelter environment inside the room, the mattress was super comfortable and the plumbing worked great. All the staff at the hotel were fantastic - kind and helpful. The restaurant is surprisingly good, and the little self-service market carried a good amount of snacks. I would absolutely stay here again, but might consider upgrading my room in the future.
