Booked this hotel on a whim on the day for somewhere new to stay. When we got there we were greeted by a lovely woman. When we got to the room one room was locked which we should have had access to as it was rightfully paid for. We first went to access the hotel facilities the pool, sauna and hot tub. The hot tub was a green colour and the pools outside was dusty and full of dirt. In the changing rooms there was no privacy another user showed me the separate changing rooms but these had no lock on so simply had to change with the chance someone could enter. Another user commented on the lack of privacy also. We decided to dine out for dinner so cannot comment on the dinner options although they did sound very nice! The room we were given was spacious and had planned to have some snacks and a relaxing evening. The car park spaces are very limited and this should be kept in mind if you’re planning on leaving and coming back as it’s very difficult to manoeuvre in and out of. We got back and went to the kitchen where bowls and wine glasses were incredibly dirty they still had stuff in the bottom. not really what you expect at the price of a room. Although the bed was super comfortable and spacious it just lacked. The breakfest was varied however the waiter we found to be a little rude and we were uncomfortable heading to get food from the buffet as you had to go up to the waiter and chef where they both looked at you. It also stated on the menu that you could access drinks however when we went to get a drink the waiter said he would bring it to us. It did not feel like we could have multiple so left feeling thirsty. Overall the room was 3* as the second room could have been used by us if we had been given access for something that we paid for. The bed was comfy but not somewhere i would highly recommend

I booked through a third-party agent (which may have been part of the problem) for a stay at the Washington Central. However, on arrival, I was informed that my booking was actually for the “Sleepwell” — an annex building located across a busy main road. The photos on the booking site clearly showed the main Washington Central hotel, so this was a disappointing surprise. Sleepwell might be a decent option if you’re after a basic, budget stay or need somewhere last-minute. But I personally didn’t enjoy my stay, mainly due to the noise levels. The building only has single-glazed windows, and being right on a busy road meant I was kept awake most of the night by traffic and people passing by. They do provide earplugs in the drawer — which says a lot about how aware they are of the issue. The room had some maintenance concerns too. Paint was peeling directly above the bed, and unfortunately, my bed was positioned under the staircase, so I could hear every single footstep from guests going upstairs. Not ideal for rest. Small touches were also lacking. The milk provided with the tea and coffee was off. While the used mug was replaced during housekeeping, no fresh milk or sugar was left behind — a small but noticeable oversight. If you’re just in town for a night out and need somewhere to crash, this place might be fine. But if you’re after a few nights of rest or staying for work, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Big mistake booking here. Weird set up. Linked to another nearby hotel. Overwhelming smell of damp, room had a smell of damp dog. Bathroom didn't look to have been cleaned from last occupant. Booked two nights. Left after one and booked elsewhere.
