My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was an AMAZING experience!! Everything was exceptional from the front desk staff, to the butlers, to the fabulous room which was exceptionally clean. We didn’t want to leave the beds because they were so nice & the heated towel rack was to die for. The included home cooked breakfast was a highlight every morning and the attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. We want to give a shout out to our fabulous butler Darryl and Tyler our valet. They both always had a friendly face and knew what we needed without having to ask. They made sure to ask about our trip each day when we arrived back at the hotel and gave us ideas of things to see and do in Charleston. We will definitely stay at this hotel anytime we visit Charleston because it’s a 10/10!
Absolutely Exceptional!! The best service and hospitality I've ever experienced. It was a true pleasure, especially for our anniversary!! It was so comforting, warm, and inviting, like staying with a loving rich auntie lol. From the welcome drink and the daily "hellos", to the typed out itinerary suggestions from a single question, above and beyond doesn't begin to cover it. Thank you so much to Wade, DeShaun, Daryl , Chuck, James, David, Russ, Michelle, Kristine, and every single member of the staff and crew. We are so grateful for such a memorable vacation. We are so grateful and can't wait to come back with our kiddos!
I do not have enough positive things to say about our experience at the Spectator. Easily one of the best hotel experiences we've had in a long time. Perfect for anyone looking to get away and explore Charleston on foot. Yes the room and amenities were top-notch, but the staff really took things to the next level. Everyone--and I mean everyone from front desk to housekeeping-- smiled, spoke to us, and genuinely seemed like they enjoyed their job. Such a rarity in today's world. We weren't sure what to expect with "butler" service, but it was the extra 'wow' factor of our trip. They were ALL excellent, but David really went above and beyond. He sent a kind note on our anniversary, helped us make a dinner reservation on a busy Friday night, and provided several excellent and personalized recommendations. To top things off, after learning I was gluten free he left us some gluten free jalapeno cheese straws. Southern hospitality at its finest. The in-room breakfast each morning was so convenient. After a full day of walking, the last thing you want to do is walk somewhere for breakfast. The food was adequate and there were several customizations available for Gluten Free. We also really appreciated the available amenities included in our stay, such as the in-room fridge (sodas, water, cold brew coffee) and the available bicycles. It was incredibly refreshing to not feel 'nickel and dimed' out of our souls like we do at most hotels. The beverage program here is on point. Our welcome cocktail (Peach Porch Swing) was the best bourbon cocktail my wife said she has ever had. Our drinks from the bar were excellent, even if the service was a bit slow for a weekend afternoon. All in all, this is a wonderful gem of a hotel that elevates Southern hospitality. We will certainly return.
