We have been here for dinner with friends, it was so delicious, the staff was so nice and friendly we couldn’t wait for the next one. So we decided to go again and it was again as we expected.

The hotel is very good for Elite members… I was upgraded to suite even before arriving. I think their gesture is nice. I was Platinum Elite upon check in. But their ground crew at the lobby & lounge could be friendlier. The lady at the lounge was quite snobbish for whatever reasons. I just checked in and asked what time does happy hour starts she gave an annoying look an responded you can’t start first, maybe later (it was maybe 10 minutes to it). Sometimes it’s the tone that changes the entire message, respond with a more PR friendly reply… not everyone is here “for free flow stuff”. I was just super tired after the journey from Beijing and wanted a drink. I didn’t bother about the food anyway. The turn off part was my room door was left unlocked for 3-4 hours when I asked for turn down. I went out around 5pm & got back about 9pm+ so it was open for that long!!with the lash holding my room door open… Anyway, I made a fuss because this should not be the case. I won’t know if anyone had gone in to install cameras or put poison into my water. Just saying. But it’s a security breach to leave your guest door open. And this is St Regis!!! Initially they did not want to do anything but I forced them to look at the security cameras which they took until next morning coz it was already late. They didn’t even arrange anyone to explain the situation after checking until I asked at the check out counter. Subsequently they wanted to brush it off with 2000 points but I insisted for an adequate amount of compensation. This is not a small matter but a huge one… I trusted the hotel but this is the drama caused… Very much later we were then offered a day’s accommodation in form of points which I had accepted. I hope this is a lesson for them to learn as this should never happen in St Regis. Or any Marriott brands. I mean, never. Not even maybe. Room and location otherwise is very good. Breakfast selection is limited but sufficient. I would still return to the hotel.
