The Standard Hua Hin is an amazing hotel — one of the best I’ve ever stayed at! From the moment you arrive at the gate, the bellboy, the reception, and every single staff member are incredibly friendly. It truly feels like coming home. Everything is perfect and so cool. The food at Lido and Lido Bar is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. If you’re a member, you get a 15% discount and there’s also a happy hour — which is a great bonus! Oh Thai Izakaya restaurant perfect as well, and have a enjoy drink with good view. What I love the most is the staff — everyone is so lovely and kind. My room was on a high floor with a balcony that overlooks the beautiful garden and big trees. It feels peaceful and refreshing. I don’t even know how to describe it… it’s just beautiful. Even the chef came to check how the food was and made sure everything was perfect. That was really lovely! I will definitely come back again.

I had a very pleasant stay at this resort! What I loved most was the pool area. It’s beautifully designed, the water temperature is just right, the pool is spacious, and there are several relaxing in-water zones that make it incredibly comfortable. My room was bright, tastefully designed, and everything felt comfortable and well thought out. The resort uses Davines products for shampoo and body wash in the rooms, which I personally use at home too! so I was really happy with that detail. A special shout-out to their service: I accidentally left something behind when I checked out, and after informing the resort, they arranged for it to be delivered to Bangkok the very same afternoon via express shipping. I was truly impressed by the excellent level of service here. Highly recommended!

The hotel is stylishly designed and centrally located in Hua Hin. With its limited number of rooms and villas, it has a pleasant boutique hotel feel. I particularly liked the compact layout of the resort as the pool and beachfront are easily accessible, which makes the space feel intimate and not overwhelming. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the restaurant interiors are equally appealing. I genuinely appreciated the design aesthetic throughout the property. Housekeeping deserves a special mention: very attentive, orderly, clean and efficient. However, there are several areas where the hotel underdelivered, especially considering its aspirations toward the 5-star luxury segment. Despite staying for 10 nights, we remained surprisingly anonymous. Staff consistently asked for our room number - sometimes multiple times a day - at breakfast, the bar, or when trying to charge anything to the room. This lack of recognition detracted from the personal touch one would expect from a property of this category. More concerning were the ongoing construction works taking place right next to the pool area. A large excavator operates daily, causing constant noise and due to its heavy emissions a noticeable odor. This significantly impacted the relaxation factor of what’s meant to be a leisure resort. At no point - during booking or check-in - were we informed of this. There was also no attempt to compensate for this major disruption. Poolside service could use improvement. Buttons installed on sun loungers to call for service appear to be non-functional as we tested several with no response. Staff seemed idle at times, yet used towels were rarely cleared from loungers unless guests did it themselves. The hotel has signs stating policies like not reserving loungers or avoiding swimwear in restaurants, but these rules are inconsistently enforced. In addition the atmosphere was regularly disrupted by a steady stream of guests taking photo shoots around the pool and property. The hotel seems to encourage this behavior rather than manage it, often to the disadvantage of other guests’ privacy and peace. Breakfast started off strong with a blend of buffet and a la carte Thai dishes freshly prepared on request, which were excellent. Disappointingly, after three days this was replaced by standard Western fare (eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc.). Upon inquiry we were told the Thai a la carte menu is only offered when occupancy is low - a shame, as it clearly demonstrated a drop in quality when the hotel gets busier. Overall, this is a solid 4-star hotel with a great location - walking distance to night markets, restaurants, and bars. But it falls short of true 5-star luxury. Especially when there are neighboring resorts that meet that standard at similar price points and offer a better overall guest experience. The Standard is now part of "World of Hyatt" and positions itself as a lifestyle brand next to Andaz or Thompson. Based on our experience, that comparison feels quite off the mark.
