We stayed here a few days while at a work conference. The room was very nice with a beautiful large bathroom. We had a king deluxe room and overall it was very nice. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I even enjoyed the hotel gym which was fully stocked with everything you needed! The only thing I wish was added to the room was a mini fridge… I love to keep drinks cold in the room! Other than that a wonderful stay!
Overall, our experience at The Statler was good. Positives included special memories made with my girls - they loved the view of the city and the shower which came complete with a rain fall shower head and two robes. The girls felt luxurious. We also enjoyed the pool area. I appreciated the valets who kindly let me know about a parking spot across the street that saved me about $45! Negatives included a very strong cigarette smell in the hallway and a strong scent in our hotel room as though they were trying cover the cigarette smell. It bothered my eyes and lungs enough that we asked to move rooms. The hotel staff was accommodating and understanding. We started on the 7th floor which was definitely stronger smelling then the 6th, but I would say that our 6th floor room and hallway smelled as well just not quite as strong. I wasn't sure if this was carry over from all the years people smoked in those hallways or someone sneaking it in their room, but it was very strong. We also left the pool area about 8:30 as it became an adult environment vs kid friendly. A group of people brought their music, drinks, and smokes and others came as couples to the lounging areas. It just didn't feel kid friendly at this point, so we headed back to our room. And in all honesty, I would say the hotel itself felt much more like a place for adults vs kids.
Slightly disappointed, I’ve been looking forward to my stay because I’ve heard many good things about this place and I was celebrating my anniversary with my partner. Initially we got a room where the A/C wasn’t working so we got moved and later in the day there was a good amount of roaches in that room. I’ve been in plenty of hotels, this being one of the more luxury ones and I wasn’t expecting this. Over all it was OK the pool was nice, and so were the staff but I simply expected better.
