I attended a family wedding here. I heard about the poor reviews but was pleasantly surprised after getting there and spending 2 nights. I found the aesthetics of the place to be really cool—a modern vintage look. The cleanliness was good. The food was not impressive. The staff I interacted with were quite friendly, but it seemed like they were all still relatively new to each other / the place, meaning that they need more training or experience to flow smoothly. The dining area was often too cold (AC). The grounds were nice; most of all I liked the overall setting, and it was a great place for a wedding.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights. It was booked by a travel agent and looked nice on the website so our expectations were high. When we checked in, we weren’t given any information about amenities (when/where breakfast is, the pool, the “spa”, the restaurant). Our room was large and mostly clean but there were some visible stains on the couch and a very long hair. Several lighting fixtures didn’t work in the bathroom. The front desk staff nor any staff ever acknowledged our presence. The grounds are unkempt and there are several buildings that look abandoned and the “spa” is a separate building that looks like a defunct greenhouse. We concur with the many previous reviews about the premises. Breakfast was very lame and we missed it the first day and when we looked for it at 9 am (it ended at 9 am, though we didn’t know that because we were never told any hours or given any info), no one said a word to us. In general, when we were clearly looking for things (ex: the pool), no one offered to help and front desk staff were almost always on the phone or in their office. The walls and ceilings are also very thin and we could hear everything from people in the hallway and neighboring rooms. Pros- good blackout curtains and comfy bed. It’s a decent place to sleep but not hospitable and definitely not a “resort.”

For the money, this hotel is not worth the stay. I called ahead of time to ask for an hour early check in and they said it was $50/hr to check in early, even though I had been told my room was ready. So I waited it out. I was already spending $250/night. Driving onto the grounds, everything was overgrown and not super welcoming or kept up with. After checking into our room, it had a really bad odor, like mold or an extremely sour smell, which also started down the hallway. We ended up having to switch our rooms because it was intolerable! The girl at the front desk working evenings was extremely helpful and very kind. Our second room had a lamp that didn't work and a fridge that had been unplugged. Water ended up spilling out of the fridge because it had been defrosted. The rooms are dark and little lighting. The breakfast was very disappointing with options of carbs only and yogurt. No fresh fruit or anything. The pool was clean, but the walk there was overgrown. It's a very strange feel staying on this property. I would rather stay at a chain hotel, at least I know what I am going to get.
