The Strat Hotel Casino & Tower

While our room and general stay was perfectly fine we left feeling like this resort charges way too many fees - maybe they all do, but we’ve been happier with stays at other properties on the strip. The other thing that seems worse than other properties is all of the people trying to get you to go to the time share presentations. They’re by the parking and even right by where you get an elevator to go to your room. It’s quite annoying. So while the rooms were fine I feel like this was not our favorite stay on the strip and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

My husband surprise me with a trip to Las Vegas, I was a little surprised to see the hotel was in such a sketchy area with hotels boarded up all around, one of the most disappointing things was the pool was closed and it was 105° that day. They kept saying it would be open in 30 minutes and they just kept delaying it until we had to catch our flight three hours later. We were really looking forward to one day of just relaxing in the pool before having to jump on an airplane for 3 hours. The top of the roof restaurant was delicious and such a cool atmosphere, but the waiter was pretty non-motivated to make a good impression. Not necessarily rude, just not what you would think the service you would receive from a restaurant at that scale.

As soon as we walked in to check in, we were stopped by staff and harassed to spend another night, even though we only wanted to spend one day. Security is constantly following you and watching you, especially if you’re a person of color. Staff harasses you with vouchers while you’re actively gambling. Multiple staff harass you with vouchers. The elevators did not feel safe to ride in especially to the top floors. Elevators are missing several buttons. The air conditioner was so dirty and dusty that that it was a hazard because it may have blown up, and I woke up with my nose stuffed and tears in my eyes. Shower did not have a shower door, so water flowed right onto the floor. The only thing clean in the room was the bed and the bathroom, the rest of the room felt grimy and untouched for a very long time. The Starbucks was very understaffed. The staff worked very hard, but there was just no way for them to keep up with orders with the amount of work they had, and with only two of them. When I tried to call to call the front desk about late check out I was hung up on immediately. Two separate housekeeping ladies proceeded to bang on the door even after we informed the first one we wanted to do late check out. Lastly, two staff members openly made fun of and laughed at a previous guest that they were assisting after he left.
