The Sunset Beach Resort & Spa Taling Ngam

Beautiful sunset views in a quaint family owned resort. Our first impression was very good, they called us after our flight landed to ensure we found the shuttle and asked if we wanted anything from the kitchen as it was closing we would arrive. The breakfast had made-to-order eggs, fresh fruit, cereal, espresso coffee/cappuccino, and a variety of bread & croissants. There’s a few restaurants within walking distance. There’s good snorkeling off the beach & there’s a break in the coral right in front of the resort to allow for deeper swimming. The price is excellent for what you are getting. The location is on the quiet side of the island about 1 hour drive from the airport, however most boat tours to neighboring islands will pick up at this resort. Definitely go on the Red Baron to view the national park and take a Koh Tao tour for snorkeling. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The laundry service was nice and inexpensive. We loved that they packed a breakfast for us when we had an early flight for our departure. Upon arriving there was a note on our bed that said the resort was doing a “soft opening”, which meant the spa was closed and the restaurant had limited menu. The toilet in the room has a glass door that limited privacy. No bidet. The rooms are not sound proof. We could hear some noise from the neighbors and street, but it was still very quiet.

Arriving at The Sunset Beach Resort felt like stepping into a moment where time stands still. This laid-back retreat offers direct access to one of the most stunning beaches, with unforgettable sunsets and a deep sense of tranquility. No noise, no traffic—just the calming voice of nature all around. The team, especially K. Joy, K. Jason, and K. Id, went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their genuine hospitality made the experience even more memorable. It’s important to note that the resort has its own rhythm—slow and peaceful. The key is to embrace it and let yourself unwind. The drive from Lipa Noi Ferry Terminal to the resort perfectly sets the tone, showcasing the serene charm and gentle pace of the area. We will definitely be back.

Outstanding hotel if you want a quiet getaway with beautiful beaches and sea. Staff are amazing and can't do enough for you. Highly recommend staying here.
