The Swan Hotel

Great food, lovely welcoming staff. The rooms are clean and tidy, though they may pose an issue to those with mobility issues. The Sunday roast was really good, though the small plate was huge! The housekeepers are attentive and go out of their way to help you. The only downside is that there is no on-site parking, though there is a car park just a 5-minute walk away.

We had booked a room and arrived to a lovely welcome from very pleasant staff, It was a very hot day and we were shown our room. The room was very hot but comfortable with everything we expected as per the booking. Through no fault of the hotel and a medical issue on my part I explained to the staff that I couldn't stay in that particular room and asked if another room was available, unfortunately not So I asked if we could get a refund and was told no problem but had to go through the booking site. After a few emails it seemed like I was being fobbed off. So I rang the swan and spoke to the owner, we had a chat and without any hesitation he said full refund no problem. Today we received a full refund from the booking site, so basically I'm here saying I can't give the room a review but I can say everyone at the swan are very nice people. If I'm on holiday again in the area I will try again weather permitting. Thanks everyone at the swan. Donna Humphries.

Seems nice and clean but went for a roast and although it looked good, the food was lukewarm. The beef was full of fat and tough. The Cauliflower cheese was lacking flavour and needed cooked longer. The potatoes looked great but were also a little hard still and no crispiness. Carrots and Parsnips also needed to be cooked longer. Friend had the fish which was rubbery and not eaten.
