Stay. We stayed one night in the Cathedral suite for my husbands 50th birthday. The room was amazing. 3 rooms with roll top bath and a walk in wardrobe. Really soft comfy bed. Amazing views of the Cathedral. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, first class service. The food in the restaurant was outstanding. Lovely interior throughout.
We had a lovely night at The Swan Hotel in Wells with friends after visiting the Cathedral and Palace. We had dinner-the sea bass was perfectly cooked. Bar service was great and prices reasonable. We also had drinks in the garden across the street in the view of the Cathedral. This morning we enjoyed a full English buffet which we had included with our room.
Nice hotel. Very polite and professional staff. On the negative side, my room didn't have a shower. Someone thought it would be a good idea to stick a bathtub next to the bed, and the TV 🤔 water and electricity do not mix well! This was my second visit in 12 months. The first visit was exceptionall. The hotel has recently been taken over by new owners. The prices at the bar are ridiculously expensive (£11 for a glass of Chardonnay). Although this is a nice hotel, I will not stay again due to the ridiculous price increase. New owners must be greedy! Good location and free (limited) parking.
