The rooms at Tarna are glorious! Some of the best rooms do require a steep walk up many steps though so if you aren’t agile, request a ground floor room! We had the honeymoon suite and it was incredible, the bed may be the softest I’ve ever slept on. The breakfast wasn’t great though, and room service ends at just 3 PM. The staff were decent, but we experienced a few issues, like the bartender not being present multiple times. Still recommend staying here!

This was a beautiful resort which was a 10-15 minute walk away from the busier part of Koh Tao where there were plenty of places to eat & lots of other shops. The views from our room were beautiful & it was so peaceful. The air conditioning for the room was perfect and kept us cool very quickly! The pool was small but never very busy, as they have other pools allocated to rooms which takes away from everyone using the same pool. The buffet breakfast was always so fresh, along with a egg station where a chef would cook you eggs how you wanted. A shuttle was organised for us before checkout (to the pier) so we could be on time for our ferry, at no charge which was fantastic. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous. Be aware, the walk up to the resort is on a hill, as well the entrance to the hotel so if walking is not for you, then you might want to stay somewhere else.

Rooms were nice but I definitely recommend booking a room with private pool access as the general hotel pool is pretty small, with limited sunbeds. Breakfast was small and fairly basic. Location was a 15 minute walk into town, but uphill on the way back. The hotel did offer a shuttle but the times weren’t the most convenient for us. You can also pay an out of hours fee but we chose to walk everyday. We found the service wasn’t the best, our room wasn’t cleaned until late in the day which wasn’t very convenient as we wouldn’t get our towels refreshed etc until late.
