The Teesdale Hotel

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, it was like walking into and sleeping in a museum, loved it. I grew up around the area and its the best location for walks. The food is unreal. The only downside is the beds, the one I slept in was on a slant on the left side of the bed.

Great location for visiting the area, and picturesque. Only stayed one night. Room as nice and big, but dated and the furnishings a bit random. Ie odd taps, toilet door didn't shut or lock! Room was clean with a lovely large bed, and excellent duvet. The bar was bustling with a lovely atmosphere. Not the cheapest. But the best value in the area. However breakfast was £14 each. Bit steep.

Overpriced for a budget hotel and site pictures misleading. Paid £92.00 per night but the room was shabby, required repairs and updating and the wardrobe unusable as it smelled terrible. Clothes stayed in suitcase. It's 2 star, but I still think people deserve better, for the price. That said the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful; especially when we could not get the cold water tap to turn off. Also we had a meal there, and found the food delicious. An Exceptional Chef, but we won't stay there again.
