The Thousand Kyoto

I recently stayed at The Thousand Kyoto, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the ambiance of the hotel struck me as serene, modern, and distinctly Japanese in its elegance. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and designed with a calming minimalism that immediately made me feel at ease. What made my experience truly memorable, however, was the outstanding service — especially from Ms. Mijin Park at the front desk. She was not only professional and attentive, but also incredibly warm and thoughtful. Her kindness and care made me feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of, and her assistance during stay and throughout my stay added a personal touch that I’ll never forget. This hotel is a perfect blend of convenience (just steps from Kyoto Station), comfort, and quality service. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Thousand Kyoto to anyone visiting this beautiful city — and I sincerely hope to return again someday.

I was in awe of this property. We only stayed for four nights but it was such a lovely stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, responding immediately to requests. The property itself: WOW. Beautifully designed. Perfectly located at Kyoto Station. The view of the mountains from the room was stunning. There was no noise in the room despite being right next to the station and the hallways were quiet. No noise disturbance at all. The beds are on the firmer side which I believe is standard in Japan so I slept on top of the duvet for some added cushion and found it was comfortable. We’ve stayed at several Ritz Carlton properties that were not as nice at The Thousand Kyoto for a much higher price. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and plan to come back on my next trip to Japan. Thank you to the staff!

What a beautiful hotel, the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with a wonderful smell of essential oils. Walking through the main entrance transports you into a different world. The rooms are elegant and classy. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. Highly recommend if you are staying in Kyoto as it is located very close to Kyoto station making all your travel quick and easy. When I return to Japan I will be staying here much longer as this is by far the best hotel we have ever experienced in the Kyoto area.
