The Tony Hotel South Beach

We had the most amazing experience at this hotel! I originally booked the standard queen room, and upon arrival they had upgraded us to a king room with an ocean view that was beautiful! The hotel itself is clean, beautiful, and historic. Complimentary beach towels and chairs are available, and upon arrival we were also made aware of various discounts they had available at local restaurants. The front desk, concierge, and housekeeping staff are all incredibly kind and ensured that every detail of our stay was immaculate. I have never had a stay quite like my one at The Tony Hotel, I was treated like absolute royalty and they really went out of their way to make us feel special. I will absolutely be returning!

I stayed six nights in the King deluxe on Ocean Drive. Location was fantastic within minutes to the beach and within minutes to every possible restaurant you can think of. The bathroom was very big. Plenty of closet space and Nelly at the front desk was fantastic. The only negative which wasn’t in inconvenience was the elevators in both buildings we’re not working all the time. My room was on the third floor, and the pool was on the fourth floor on the Collins ave side of the building. We were told to use the elevators at our own discretion. Other than that I would definitely go back again.

The staff is what makes the Tony a great place to stay. I don't know why this is categorized as a 4-star hotel, because it's not. The lodgings themselves are more motel quality. Overall, I was disappointed with the state of the room and furnishings, as they were very old. The bathroom floor wasn't clean, the grout in the bathroom came loose, and the shower stall was cruddy. The laminate/wood on the furniture was bubbling up and the carpet was really old. The hallways were drab and smelled strange. HOWEVER. The value for price, the amenities offered (pool service, beach chairs/towels), and the staff were really amazing and made the overall experience great. In particular, Robin and Jamie were wonderful. Without the overall staff friendliness and level of service, I would have rated the hotel a 2.5 or, at most, 3.
