A very, very nice resort with great amenities. We stayed for two nights in one of the stables rooms. Everything was top notch. The room and bath were very comfortable and quite nicely appointed. The staff of the hotel and the restaurants were super friendly and extremely good at their jobs. We had two great breakfasts in the main hotel, two very nice dinners in the stables restaurant, and a wonderful whisky session after dinner in the whisky bar. All in all an enchanting part of our trip to Scotland!
What an absolutely wonderful hotel. The Torridon is a little slice of heaven in the Highlands! The hotel itself is a real retreat in stunning surroundings, the beds supremely comfortable, the food is the best I have ever eaten in Scotland and the activities are brilliant. However the thing that sets this hotel apart from others (for us at least) is the staff. You are welcomed with open arms and nothing is too much trouble. They make you feel special without ever being overbearing and have great recommendations whether that be in the bar, restaurants or about the activities. Many of the staff are seasoned pros but there are lots of younger staff getting expert training and experience in hospitality. The younger staff we spoke to were a delight and did the hotel, and themselves, proud. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special. We will definitely be back again soon!
Disappointing Experience at The Torridon During our recent stay in a stunning cottage about 30 minutes from The Torridon hotel (highly recommend The Net Store!), we were eager to explore the area and had hoped to dine at the hotel, book some experiences and inquire about hotel offerings for a future visit with friends. Our cottage can only host four people, so we were considering The Torridon for our next trip. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a courteous and elegant gentleman who referred me to his colleague in charge of experience planning. Unfortunately, this is where the experience took a turn. The young woman I spoke with was shockingly rude and dismissive. The moment she realized I wasn’t a current hotel guest, she made it abundantly clear she had no interest in speaking with me. She barely acknowledged my questions about activities, potential future bookings, or seasonal availability. Her tone was condescending, and I was made to feel completely unwelcome. I left feeling insulted—and needless to say, without booking anything. Thankfully, we later found another company that provided a wonderful private tour, complete with a boat equipped for fishing and wildlife watching. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience truly special, taking us to hidden spots, sharing local history, and helping us catch fish right from the sea. As for The Torridon—sadly, we won’t be returning or recommending it.
