The Townhouse Hotel

Fantastic little boutique hotel with stunning rooms and great food. The hotel only has a small number of rooms and carpeted stairs, no lift. This means especially on the top floor it is very quiet at night. It is very friendly and welcoming with almost a family feel yet professional. The rooms are great and come with everything you need, like hairdryers, shower gel and lotion, especially great for a business stay. The breakfast food selection is amazing. While there is no hot cooked food, there is a large selection of different types of bread, cheeses, meat, sweet things and more. Along side that you get real fresh coffee or tea. They are happy to accommodate extra requests too (like soya milk) if communicated when booking. At night there is a small bar open that serves drinks and the most amazing looking cakes. Plus you get a complimentary drink on arrival! Highly recommended.

We had a great stay, one night. Shelia run a very friendly hotel, lovely decor & immaculately clean. Continental breakfast was amazing with a great variety. Highly recommend this hotel great for all everybody’s made welcome.

Well located within easy reach of the town and transport links to Newcastle. Large comfortable room with plenty of storage and an equally spacious bathroom. Would have been 5 stars but we would have liked more choice at breakfast and the milk was left out too long.
