Currently staying in the Alder lodge for our first wedding anniversary. The lodge is absolutely stunning and had everything we needed. Good little welcome basket with tea, coffee biscuits etc and even some procecco. Lovely and peaceful and we enjoyed the walk around the lake. Felt like the only ones here as we didn’t see any other guests.We also attempted the boat but we were not the best at rowing but thoroughly enjoyed it, nice touch. Would definitely return and would bring our son next time and possibly our dog as they would love it.
Had a fabulous stay in the Alder Lodge - it was more beautiful than the photos - we throughly enjoyed every peaceful minute - it’s so well equipped - down to your own boat and hot tub and a visit from the swan each morning - thank you for the Prosecco - we will be back
A log cabin like no other. We visited over Xmas. It was our first visit. Our log cabin was decorated with a beautiful real Xmas tree. The location was spectacular. Our cabin overlooked the lake with a hot tub on the decking. The place was magical. Would definitely visit again. The only negative is it’s in the middle of nowhere and not near any nice areas within the Lake District. Nearest place to visit is Carlisle which I thought was a bit of a dump.
