A fantastic place if you're looking for a romantic (or just quiet) get away. Staff was very friendly and dealt with problems quickly! The design of the rooms (we stayed at a tented pavilion) is both appealing and unique. For food you are pretty much limited to the hotel restaurant (although there is a small bar at the other side of the island that you can reach via the beach, popular with day trip-ers which closes at sun down) which was good and not more expensive than the hotel restaurants at less cast away places). Definitely recommended if you're trying to get away from the craziness for a little while
My husband and I spend a wonderful week here a few years ago. It’s beautiful and private. We were the only guests on the island for a few days too which was lovely.
The best are rooms and staff! Privacy in room is not that perfect. Some bamboo mats need to be setup for privacy and decoration. Hotel tries to ripp off their guests via minibar, SPA, Restaurant and Transport. Prices are more than triple as high as you normally get in Samui. Go to the end of the island. Their are some locals. Boattransfer and meal is cheaper than dinner in hotel (for two). Take some food, drink and coffee with you on the island. Even for coffee the hotel takes 100 THB for one capsule. Boat and taxi transfer are totally rubbish. Not worth a 4 star hotel. You will not get a wet towel or a water! Not on the boat, not in the taxi and not at the private pier! The pier on Samui is very bad to walk. Elder people might have heavy problems to walk there. Also the pier at Koh Madsum is not the hat easy to walk. Pier, taxi and boat looks more like broken and poor. You will have the choice between 3 breakfast variants. American, continental and madsum. All are everyday same! Same Marmelade Same honey. After 3 days you will be annoyed by the breakfast. Butter is almost liquid. Both beaches the sandy beach which is in reality very stony and the rocky beach are both extremely dirty with plastic rubbish and seaweed. Hotel does not provide bathrobe. Slipper are too small.
