The View by Distinctive Beach Rentals

The hotel is beautiful and I love the history behind it. The room we stayed in was clean and would have been better suited for just two adults. We had a roll away bed for our daughter, and it was very cramped. Our room was located right by the pool which would have been fine had it not been for club music still blaring at 10 pm. There was also a very strong, gross smell when you were coming up the outdoor staircase by the pool area. The location can’t be beat though. You are within close walking distance to a lot of tourist attractions, shopping, and food. If you take the trolley tour, you’re very close to a stop as well. Overall our stay was great but just wanted something a little quieter.

Very nice location in the heart of everything. I loved the Moroccan theme and the rooms are cute and clean. Where this fell apart was after walking around all day in the summer, dripping on sweat, a little sun burned the room was bit made up yet. No towels or anything to take a cold shower. I went down to complain and was greeted with shrugs. It’s 5pm the room should be cleaned. I stay approximately 80 nights a year, this was unusual. I liked the bar and we would have come back in a month. On to the Hilton.

I’ve been staying at this hotel for about 10 years on vacations, I can tell this hotel has certainly lost a lot of its amenities yet the price is the same, or up depending on when you go. They used to have a beach club on the ocean in the summer for guests, it had a pool, bar, food, and was only a few 100 feet to chairs set up for you on the water. The beach club is now gone, we went to what they have “replaced” it with which was nearly a half mile walk from public parking to two chairs set up on a beach, nothing else, we had three people and two rooms and were told there we could only have two chairs per group even though there was a stack there, later found out we should have been offered more. We did not return, it’s behind a hotel but they don’t even have rights to park at the hotel it’s behind so it was a worthless trip. The shuttle they offer that they sold us on when we got there we found out it only runs twice the whole day at two times, to drop you and pick you up so you have no control over coming back or forth. While we were there the water was cut off during the night for repairs, we were not offered any amount off for literally having no water, or anything for the guests staying there during the time of no water access. I thought it was due to the water repair but after it was done the problem remained but each time we used hot water in our room from the shower it would hammer extremely loud. Was not worth changing rooms over but just showed it wasn’t being attended to. Ordered food service, everything came cold. I will say the staff cleaning and servicing the rooms each day are amazing. The bar staff are on top of it and so are the people cleaning and caring for the pool area. The hotel is still stunning but for 250+ a night they have no parking like the other hotels included (which that has always been the case), but you could out weigh that with the other amenities but in my opinion those are now gone.
