The Views Monumental

Stayed here in November for 1 week. Brilliant relaxed hotel with everything you’ll need on your trip. Great location with lots of restaurants and shopping mall underneath. Fantastic views. Breakfast was a treat with an amazing array of high quality food on offer. Sitting in the bar area in sunshine enjoying breakfast with sea views was a bonus. We stayed on 4th floor level with pool. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and happy to help. Pool bar great and very well staffed. Would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a great stay. Lyn and Steve

I’ve visited the hotel late November- early December 2024. I’ve liked spacious, clean rooms, great quality breakfasts with lots of fresh fruit and good choice and quality of other food. Hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. There is a free underground parking, which is great if you rent a car. The hotel has pools, spa and gym access, but I can’t comment on that as I haven’t time to use them. Walking to Funchal cathedral vicinity took me about 30-35 minutes. There are two small malls/shop centres near the hotel and nice choice of bars and restaurants.

Family suite with a double bed and two single beds in the 'living room' for the kids. Bathroom with a shower. The 'bedroom' can be closed off from the 'living room'/kitchen with a sliding door. The soundproofing from the street is very good, but it is really bad from the hallway. You hear every footstep passing your room, but since everyone on these floors is sleeping early with kids it's not that big of a deal. Rooms and hotel are clean. Breakfast is great. Parking is good. The spa and indoor pool area need renovation and modernisation and are a minor downside to the hotel. Location is good, views are mostly great ocean views and some building/construction views. We paid 300 euros per night, which feels reasonable with two adults and two kids in a room with great breakfast and ocean views. I recommend the hotel and would visit again. I almost forgot to mention the complimentary bottle of champagne we received for my wife's birthday. Really thoughtful and appreciated! ❤️
