The W Hotel

Stayed here on 28 April 2025. This is worst hotel i have stayed in. I was only here for 8 hours and experienced so many issues it was ridiculous. Firstly at check in. Hotel wanted me to call their booking partner beforehand as they hadn't yet transferred my payment to them. This is despite booking being confirmed. Then they couldn't provide a keycard as the person that could provide them was unavailable. This meant we couldn't leave room freely. Got to the room which was in a terrible state. I booked the cheapest room but for a 3/4 star hotel, they have not even bothered basic maintenance like dusting and painting walls. Almost every essential item in a hotel was not working. Internet wifi was down, TV wouldn;t turn on, generator not turned on. No toiletries. To top it off, the only time we went out. On return, the gateman was not manning the gates but locked the door so waited 15 minutes in rain re-enter. Finally the included breakfast was not provided as they flat out lied that it is not included. Only positive was the bed was fine. This hotel is only slightly cheaper than another one i also stayed just 2 mins walk away. If you are considering saving some money by booking this hotel due to location. I would advice against. Hotel needs to spends serious money on refurb and a new management.

My biggest mistake in life would be lodging at such an unfortunate but beautifully located hotel. Apart from being located in Ikeja GRA, the W Hotel has nothing, absolutely nothing to offer. There is not a SINGLE thing that can be offered to you, not one. I strongly suspect the ‘W’ stands for Wonders because the signs and wonders you will regrettable experience will leave you with a perplexing trauma that I am still struggling to recover from. Let’s begin the analysis. Do we start from the mold infested water logged rooms or the fact that once there is no light, which is often, there is no water? How does it make sense for a hotel to not have a water tank? Apart from the cockroaches and spider that are very frequent visitors, you can rarely find a single soul roaming the abandoned halls of this horrible hotel. When it comes to the manager, I strongly doubt she has ever heard the word ‘responsibility’. Her unique talent is apportioning blame to her frightened, over worked and undervalued workers. How does one always have an excuse to a problem that should have been managed under their watch? Only the manager of W Hotel has mastered this strange skill with a smile and a false apology. If you want to experience what disappointment truly embodies, I would grudgingly recommend staying a night. My online brothers and sisters, I write this plea to you with my two knees touching the cold ground, do NOT follow in my footsteps, avoid this so called hotel at all COSTS!! Ps: Do not believe the positive reviews below, I strongly suspect they were written by the manager to lure in innocent victims. Dearly Beloved, Do not become a victim.

I wish there was a negative star. Avoid this property at all cost. First they tried to scam me. They were not honest about the price on the restaurant menu in the beginning and they overcharged everything. One time my breakfast didn’t come after literally 4 hours (first 2 hours they made wrong order; then another 2 hours to fix the right order) Second, they have management issue. I saw the boss scolded the staff in front of me for small issue. Staffs found slept in the restaurant couch in the breakfast time. Lastly don’t trust everything you see in the pictures. They have a messy and dead swimming pool area. There were no lights in the room hallways despite it being requested to be on at all time (the hotel is dark and creepy enough). During my 4 days stay here I didn’t see any other guest than myself i guess that explained.
