We stayed at The Watson Premium Halong Hotel and were impressed by the hotel’s modern design, excellent service, and overall quality. This is a large, upscale hotel where the staff were consistently professional, friendly, and attentive — we felt truly welcomed throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and stylishly furnished, with a large terrace that offered plenty of natural light and space to relax. The bathroom was well-equipped, featuring both a bathtub and a separate shower, adding comfort and convenience. The breakfast buffet was extensive, with a wide variety of dishes, although the selection was clearly more geared toward Asian guests, which might be something to keep in mind for travelers looking for Western options. The rooftop pool looked beautiful in photos, but during our stay, it was very crowded, which made it less inviting — a shame, as the setting itself was appealing. Despite that, our overall experience was very positive. The Watson Premium Halong Hotel is a modern, well-run hotel with excellent service and comfortable amenities. It’s a great base for visiting Ha Long, and we would recommend it to those looking for a stylish and well-located place to stay.
Great value for such a luxury hotel. This is ours favourite hotel in the entire Vietnam trip. It’s new, clean and located centrally near many seafood restaurants, 30 minutes from the Halong cruise terminal. The ocean view from both the room and rooftop is breathtaking. Breakfast is quite decent and the bar on the rooftop is well stocked.
We recently stayed at The Watson in Halong Bay, a five-star hotel with a clean, modern look and generally good service. We were a family of five and had two rooms, which — due to the room types — were located on different floors. This was a bit inconvenient with children, but we accepted it and made it work. However, this setup became more problematic after a concerning incident. One of our children took the elevator to our floor to bring something to us, and was unexpectedly confronted by a drunk hotel guest who yelled at and pushed him. This is completely unacceptable. When we reported it to the reception, the response was underwhelming. The staff told us the man was drunk and there was nothing they could really do. We strongly believe that a hotel of this standard should take guest safety seriously and act accordingly when such incidents occur. Additionally, on our last night, we experienced significant noise disturbance until 2 AM from other guests who were loudly talking and laughing. This made it difficult to sleep and left us with a negative final impression. Other hotels we’ve stayed at had clear quiet hours — such as no noise after 10 PM — and we believe similar policies would be beneficial here. That said, the hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and in a good location. We booked a Halong Bay tour through the hotel, which was very well organized and enjoyable. Another highlight was the personal assistant assigned to us — she was incredibly helpful and always available to support us during our stay. Overall, The Watson has great potential, but unfortunately, the lack of guest behavior management impacted the quality of our experience
