The Welldiggers Arms

A nice late lunch at this relaxed venue. Staff were welcoming, the table was laid out beautifully, and the food was delicious. One of our party struggled to find a dish which would suit her dietary needs. Our server, Steph, kindly popped into the kitchen to have a chat with the chef, and between them they managed to produce a meal which our friend thoroughly enjoyed.

A fantastic country pub with beautiful views and an amazing restaurant. We took all the rooms and dined there over our wedding weekend and the staff were superb. I highly recommend this pub! Only giving 4/5 stars for rooms as the room I was in had big stains on the carpet and the snug room was very hot as there is no proper windows but it was an exceptionally warm summer night and they do provide fans! We will 100% be going back for our anniversary.

The good Service was brilliant. Staff were friendly approachable and helpful. Was immediately noticeable the level of training the staff had recieved, even if I did suspect they engaged less often than other restaurants in order to give the kitchen time to keep up. Would absolutely go to one of the chains other hotels based on the staff training. Furnishing were great in both the room and restaurant. Super comfy chairs and lovely outside space with a well maintained garden. The food was amazing and so well cooked. We had the fish and the steak along with desserts and we both think it's the best quality we have eaten out this year. Room was lovely and clean. Plenty of easy parking. The bad The legally needed security lights/led was bright in the small room. Could do with a shelf in the bathroom for the washbag. Tiny things but it's an honest review The ugly There is no escaping the main road. The room was loud. The hotel provided ear plugs in response to this.
