Beautiful hotel, great location. Front desk and valets were wonderful. We very much enjoyed the pool and hot tub, both well maintained and daily large. Our room was spotless. I would definitely stay again on my next trip to Detroit. I would like to add that the valet staff was very fast at bringing our car around. I was a bit concerned after reading other reviews, but there was a large valet staff that was fast and efficient, as well as friendly.

I recently stayed at The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, and while I had some positive experiences, there were also a few aspects that left me a bit disappointed. First off, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, which made the overall experience more enjoyable. The hotel itself is stunning, and it's clear that it has a rich historical background. You can feel the history as you walk through the building, with the architecture and design telling a story of its past. However, I did have a few concerns. The fitness center was much smaller than I expected, especially considering the size of the building. It was clear that the gym had been added in recent decades, likely within the past 50 years, as it didn’t quite align with the grandness of the rest of the hotel. If you’re someone who prioritizes a larger fitness space, this might be a letdown. Another issue I encountered was the smell of pot intermittently throughout the building. As someone who has asthma and is sensitive to this, it was uncomfortable and surprising. I’m not sure if it's legal to smoke marijuana inside buildings in Michigan, but I feel that it should not be allowed in a hotel, especially one with such a prestigious reputation. This definitely impacted my overall comfort during my stay. In conclusion, while the hotel staff and historical charm were a highlight, the small fitness center and the occasional unpleasant smell detracted from what could have been a more positive experience. I’d recommend it with some reservations for those who may be sensitive to those types of issues.

We stayed here two nights in late June 2025. Let's start with the good: - The beds at this hotel are super comfortable - Contrary to others, the valet parking was great. It's a 3rd party that parks your car but they were fantastic for us. It's $45 and there's no other option with the hotel. Everything else is a self park. So it's good and bad. - Beautiful marble tile shower - Clean room - Pool was decent - Gym has everything you need - Location was pretty good - Water refill station in lobby The bad: - Check in was extremely late, the first time a hotel couldn't check me in a bit early. I requested an upgrade if possible, since we're Gold, but all we got was a late check-in and didn't get any upgrade. - We were gone 7 hours (9-4) on the Sunday and no one came and made up our room. I don't understand the lack of service at this hotel. So we had to request all new towels and what not. - The lady at check-out seemed uninterested in our stay. - The King bed seemed like it was small. - The bathroom shower was incredibly dark, no light in the shower. - Thin walls, can hear noise easily. - The location is good but going the other way, is a block away from sketchiness. - The room was on the smaller side. - Terrible views from the room The sole reason we booked over the David Whitney hotel was because of the pool, but we won't be staying here again. Very overrated. 2/5 ⭐⭐
