We loved our stay at this Edmonton location. The rooms were perfect in size, we stayed in 709 with the view of the Winston Churchill square. Black out blinds were perfect and we got more than enough sleep. The place was very quiet which we appreciated. The staff is amazing and very responsive. I truly appreciate the help from the manager working during the day on July 24th when we checked in around 2:30 pm. We will certainly come back! Great location and great stay!
This was my third stay at The Westin Edmonton, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. As a Lifetime Marriott Platinum Elite member, I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties, and this one continues to stand out for its great location and consistently friendly service. The room was clean, well-maintained, and everything functioned as it should. I’ve seen some reviews mention the rooms being outdated, but I honestly don’t understand the complaints—my room was comfortable and met all my needs perfectly. Looking forward to returning on my next trip to Edmonton!
I stayed at the Westin while attending a conference and appreciated the convenient location near the convention center. The views from our 19th-floor room were beautiful, the room stayed nice and cool thanks to strong A/C, and there were plenty of towels available. The doormen were also especially friendly and welcoming, which made for a warm first impression. However, there were several disappointing aspects of our stay. The bathroom was not clean — there was visible mold in the shower, and the tile floor around the toilet and under the vanity was noticeably dirty. You could actually easily see where the white tile had been cleaned versus where it hadn’t. The carpet in the room was also stained and felt unclean. Almost none of the electrical outlets worked, including the ones by the bed and in the bathroom, which made it hard to charge devices and use hair tools. I also didn’t love that the shampoo and soap were in wall-mounted bottles that anyone could open and potentially tamper with — it didn’t feel very hygienic. At check-in, we were told about the buffet breakfast in a way that made it seem like it was included, but it turned out to be $33 per adult. Kids were free, but it would have been helpful to have clearer information upfront. Overall, while the location and staff had their strong points, the room’s cleanliness and functionality left a lot to be desired — especially for the price point and Westin brand expectations.
