The Westin Guangzhou

The Westin Guangzhou is conveniently located in downtown Guangzhou, close to Guangzhou East Station. As a platinum member, I had the pleasure of enjoying several complimentary benefits, including a delightful breakfast buffet and access to the exclusive club lounge. The lounge offered delicious lattes and an evening buffet, making the experience all the more enjoyable. The hotel also features excellent recreational facilities, including a well-equipped gym and two swimming pools—one indoor and one outdoor—catering to all your fitness and relaxation needs.

I was upgraded to a suite, and I truly enjoyed the experience. The suite was spacious enough to accommodate my entire family for our New Year’s Eve celebration. The hotel staff was attentive, promptly providing whiskey glasses when I requested them. The suite featured a comfortable sofa for hosting guests, a small dining table for intimate meals, and a large bathroom stocked daily with ample toiletries. The service was excellent, with staff readily assisting with restaurant reservations. The hotel’s location was convenient, close to the CBD and within easy walking or taxi distance to nearby malls and restaurants. The executive lounge was equally impressive, offering a stunning view of the city, along with a selection of decent wine and food during happy hour. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.

I am currently staying at The Westin Guangzhou, and I am very disappointed with the condition of the hotel. It feels outdated and in desperate need of renovation. The carpets and sofas are dirty, which creates an uncomfortable environment. Upon my arrival yesterday, I was given a room with a strong, unpleasant odor. After filing a complaint, I was moved to another room, but it was just as uncomfortable. The floors are sticky and unsuitable for walking barefoot, and the old, shabby appearance of the sofa is unsettling. Given its current state, I believe this hotel should be reconsidered as a three-star property.
