The Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort

An overall amazing resort! Service is impeccable. The staff is always present and willing to assist. All are very professional. Very clean always saw staff cleaning and picking up or fixing things. Rooms are very large and everything is so well designed creating an amazing environment. So close to the beach and pool is fantastic too!

This is a beautiful little island! However, the Westin could do better! Marriott is a quality hotel, and the rooms need work! The maintenance man is ran to the bone... he needs another person to help with ALL the maintenance. The housekeeping is nice, but the restrooms are nasty in all public areas. The plumbing needs work in all rooms, and the water stinks very badly. We had to change rooms and the room we left was SO hot! Even after adjustment. There was HOT air blowing out of the vent in the hall area of the room, and the bathroom switch kept tripping just because we turned on the light. Room 434. Not good! The older heavy lady first shift with short hair and glasses at the front desk must have been new on 7/2/25 because she was BEYOND frazzled, even trying to do a room change. Today 7/3/2025 she wore pearls and was frazzled and didn't understand how to provide a simple menu to us so we could scan for room service. She made me extremely nervous. I had to get the bellman who attends Liberty University in Virginia to get the menu for me. Maybe he needs a promotion?? Both locker rooms were very messy, and out of soap, the floors in the hallway were dirty. Mats were dirty. The Connect 4 game outside the restaurant was broken. That's a bummer! And the hardest working person in this entire place is Eddie! The man with the accent who is super friendly speaks to everyone on the beach, man's the umbrellas, delivers the food, and runs around doing everything in between. He is amazing! The TVs in the room are great. Our first night in the room, we ran out of bodywash, so it would be nice if things were topped off. I am not sure how long it has been since corporate has given this place a good thorough visit, but I really think a surprise visit is in order.

Excellent stay. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend of beach, pool, sun and chill this is the place. We were warmly greeted by Judi at the front desk and she took the thoughtful time to check us in and tell us all about the location and amenities. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the service is great. One stand out was Andy. That man really hustled. Serving beach side is not easy. It’s 100++ degrees out and he’s putting out the chairs and umbrellas for guests to enjoy the beach then he spends all day serving beach side. Followed by break down. He does it all with a smile. It’s an extraordinary task to serve beach side and I was very impressed. All in all we will be back and enjoyed the stay.
