The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas

The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North is an excellent choice for families, especially if you're traveling with small kids or prefer the convenience of cooking your own meals. Each villa comes equipped with a kitchen, and there are plenty of clean, well-maintained grills spread throughout the property, making it easy to enjoy a home-style meal outdoors. There's a restaurant and bar conveniently located downstairs for those times you want to dine out without going far. The resort also features a kiddie pool area right near some of the grills, which creates a relaxing, backyard-like vibe—perfect for keeping an eye on the little ones while you cook or unwind. Staff here are fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help make your stay more comfortable. Overall, this resort feels like a home away from home, with all the perks of a high-end Maui vacation.

Nice resort, crowded with kids on summer vacation. Beautiful beach, highlight of this resort is excellent snorkeling 10 yard from the beach in a very healthy reef. Close to shopping and restaurants. Resort could do with a few more eating choices. The resort overall is just naturally beautiful and meticulously landscaped. Had a two bedroom condo with full kitchen so we ate in 4X during stay. Loved it👍🏻

Our first night in this hotel was one of the most terrifying nights of my life with my kids. At 4:30 am a guest starting slamming doors and screaming. Hoping he would sleep it off, I ignored for 20 or so mins, but his shouting, screaming, cursing , and him hitting our door continued, so I called security. My kids woke up and told me they were scared. I reassured them we were safe in our room, with a door lock, and security was called. Security arrived but they didn’t call the police, they just talked to him for over an hour or two right next to our room with my kids hearing everything . At 7 am we asked to be escorted out of our room, but when they tried to escort us out, the man moved closer to our room, so I closed the door and asked security to escort us when he wasn’t near our room. From 4:30 am till 7 am (when we were escorted out) I had to reassure my daughters that we were safe despite feeling scared. I kept the girls out of the hotel property for the rest of the day. On our way back, they asked if the man would be on the property again. I called the hotel, and their response lacked empathy for our experience and simply told us they were aware of what happened and the the guest was no longer allowed on the property. I did also email them a minute long video of the terrifying sounds we endured for hours. Not going to lie, it left me on edge for the rest of the trip, feeling the weight of keeping my girls safe while traveling. I don’t believe the hotel called the police right away. Why would this unruly guest be allowed to terrorize other guests for nearly 3 hours! This was a very family friendly resort. I stayed vigilant not having any confidence on hotel security. The property is beautiful, so are the beaches, and restaurant staff is very sweet.
