The Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta

The rooms are very visibly dated, the entire hotel really is in need of some renovations. The architecture, view, and design are truly beautiful however. The location is terrible being downtown, but I can't really discount that considering most hotels and high rises are here. Service was great, nice people. I liked the Starbucks that was there, not overpriced in comparison to the gift shop which charged me almost $20 for some Advil. All in all is a nice hotel but I can't really compare it to any other hotel in Atlanta. Gym and pool are nice too, not busy either.

I had expected more from a Westin. A room near the top does offer great views of the city but this hotel is old (more than 50 years) and it shows. The lifts take a long time to arrive and the card access terminal in the lifts didn’t always work. The breakfast buffet was ordinary although the wait staff were attentive. The hotel is centrally located and a short walk to major attractions like the aquarium and Coco-Cola museum.

I heard about the Sundial observation deck and restaurant/bar. We were passing through on our way to Fort Valley. The staff we encountered were rude. They charge you $25 to go to the observation area. The restaurant/bar opened at least 30-1 hour later than they said it would. We sat down for a few minutes in the bar area. We were the only people there. We did NOT order drinks. We were approached by a staff member and asked to leave because we had our 10 year old daughter with us. The bar area is 21 and up only. The restaurant was not available since it is reservation only. Meanwhile there was restaurant staff literally sleeping at a table. The bathrooms were also super gross! The view was pretty good, but not worth $25. I definitely wouldn’t pay to stay there.
