I had the pleasure of being served by Byran and Marilyn at Pacifica during my stay at the hotel restaurant, and their service was absolutely impeccable. They were attentive, thoughtful, and made us feel truly special throughout the meal. I was celebrating my birthday, and they went out of their way to bring out a special dessert with a “Happy Birthday” message it was such a kind gesture that made the day even more memorable. Thank you both for the outstanding service!
We stayed in June 2025, during the off season, which was awesome as you pretty much have the resort and beach to yourself. The location is beautiful with really great views of the ocean and ships lining up to go through the canal. The hotel is definitely not 5 star though. It might be 4, but there were too many service issues - the squealing bathroom fan, broken lamp, no safe, broken fridge and inconsistent maid service. We didn't have any wash cloths for two days then were left four, but did not replenish the hand towels, soaps or wipes that were used. The Italian Oregano restaurant was the best food, and also the least expensive, on site. I am also not a fan of the open bathroom design. If the tub were on the patio to view the ocean I could see it, but it opens into the bedroom, which is a lot awkward when maintenance finally showed up and waltzed right in to fix the lamp. I also really hate the frosted glass on the toilet door that did not reach either ceiling or floor. There is a lot that I share with my husband but some things I prefer to keep private. Toilet use is one of those things that no one needs to see or listen to. Speaking of sound, there is no sound proofing. Expect to hear EVERYTHING that goes on above or next to your room or in the hallway. I was really glad we traveled in the off season when it wasn't as busy.
Be warned that the Wifi is essentially non-existent here. Wait-time at check-in can be very long, especially when there's a conference. We waited nearly an hour. I wanted to get the mobile room key enabled: at check-in the staff told me it needs to wait a bit after the check-in is activated, after I came back after dinner the staff told me their system is down and I should come back the next day, then next morning I was advised that the mobile key is not available at that hotel...then why didn't you just say so! The shower and room itself was nice. I reserved for rain forest view and walked in to a beautiful scenery. What disappointed me was the dead bugs on the balcony. It's simply impossible to accumulate that many dead bugs (very exotic ones too) between the few hours of room service and check-in, perhaps balcony is not a part of the cleaning routine. The restaurant staff are amazing and friendly, the food is not too bad. But overall wouldn't recommend to stay at this place that's 30+ min from the city/attractions (triple the time during rush hours).
