The Westin Yilan Resort

Great hotel! The breakfast was the best breakfast I’ve ever had in Taiwan. You couldn’t tell me it was from a hotel, because I wouldn’t believe you. Get there early, choose a good spot, eat your salty foods and then your fruits, drink coffee, stay and relax! The hot spring is also gorgeous and extremely clean. The showers are perfect and the outdoor hot spring felt like an oasis. BTW it is not coed. The room service was good, daily cleaning, modern layout in the bedrooms, and great AC in the Yilan heat. Only takeaway is that some of the restroom stalls are so small, small enough that your knees are jammed against the door and it can be a little uncomfortable.

Very nice hotel, good service, facilities and food. Importantly, Joseph Lee who helped with my check in, was absolutely fantastic. He turned what may have been a frustrating room allocation experience into a good one, and made it that much more special for the family (especially the kids). Thank you Joaeph.

Nice atmosphere with a great nature-y vibe. Hot springs was a plus and we were provided with such comfy flip flops! Breakfast was yummy Our room felt like a cabin with a nice balcony. However, we saw a cockroach that flew onto the wall, and though they were quick to come into our room to kill it, we were extremely surprised. After they left, we didn’t have a checkup on our room or offer to move. And also, our AC was broken and we were left sweating through the night 😅 We tried to make a complaint, but a lot of the workers here seem more nonchalant rather than concerned for our pleasure… so overall the hotel is nice atmosphere, but service could have been more considerate. It is very laid back here, which is not horrible but we definitely think there could be improvement for welcomeness as hotel guests
