The Wheatsheaf Hotel and Restaurant

Family stay in cottage whilst attending a nearby wedding. Lovely hotel, friendly and accommodating staff. Cottage very well decorated, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend.

It's the only place for food in Swinton, located in the middle of the main road in the village. The place is well decorated and feels welcoming. There was only one staff attending the customers when we were there. He was nice and friendly. Their homemade spice bread was nice. We ordered turkey and venison for the main, cheese plata and profiteroles for deserts. The beef was okay but the turkey tasted a bit cold and off, the desert was okay and you definitely got a lot of food for your money.

Stayed for two nights. Welcoming staff, very attentive. Rooms a good size with everything you need. The food was well prepared and tasty with good portion sizes. A good choice at breakfast and no buffet which is a bonus. Sadly the hotel lacks any atmosphere. All the guests whisper for fear of making a noise. Background music would help a lot
