The White Hart Hotel

Just returned home after stay at the white hart with my husband and friends. Went to the races, the hotel was clean ,comfortable and the staff were first class, enjoyed the continental breakfast, the location was great. Only wish I had ask for a lower floor room as we all found the stairs challenging. Will definitely be returning. Thank all

18th century coaching inn, bedroom had all original oak beams and sloping floor, comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. The restaurant/ bar is modern and spacious. Warm welcome and some nice food. And haunted.....

Really pleasant hotel with some good things going for it but some other bits that don't go for it. Great comfy bed with clean sheets, although I never looked under the covers because it was too hot. The TV displayed a good picture but was only BBC. The bathroom was lovely and clean with a great size shower, good sink and a good toilet. Water heated up quickly and there was a toilet brush there too. No, I didn't examine it. Would be nice if you actually get the kettle under the tap at the sink but nothing new there. Shampoo and Soap were ok but would be nice to have a small shelf or somewhere in the shower to put them. Somebody had left a shower gel top on the top of the shower door in the corner which was there when I got there and still there when I left. Photo 2 I think. There were reasonable cups and a couple of bottles of water which would be replaced when used. Would be nice to have a small fridge in the room to keep milk fresh and water cold. There was a dirty mat in the room and you wonder why would somebody put a dirty mat down. So I did have to look under and sure enough there were other stains. The room was quiet and the curtains kept the light out. I stayed in Room 7 and it overlooked a quiet vehicle park behind the local shopping unit. I didn't notice any noise from here. Breakfast was functional. Continental breakfast with the basics. To be fair, I'm always left underwhelmed with breakfast offerings and seem to find somewhere else locally for that so not really a down point. Staff were always helpful and polite. Clearly under new ownership so possibly just finding their feet. Yes, I would stay here as the location is good and the local places to eat and drink are fairly plentiful. Adequate free parking and off road.
