The White Horse

We had such a great weekend! The staff were super friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful room. The chocolates on arrival were a lovely touch and very delicious. We ate in the restaurant whilst we were staying and a great evening was had by all. We will definitely stay again if we are back in Dorking! Thanks for looking after us so well!

This lovely pub and hotel surpassed our expectations. The pub is a lovely old building with lots of atmosphere and our hotel room in the courtyard were spacious with very high quality fittings and thoughtful touches such as oat milk for the coffee and pillow spray. But what particularly made our stay so enjoyable was the staff, who without exception were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming

This review is one of two halves. The location is great, the rooms clean and comfortable. Apart from fantastic service in the restaurant from the Mexican manageress, all other staff contacts left a lot of room for improvement. Examples, 1. We don't serve food on the terrace, you'll have to carry your own coffee's despite having a bag in each hand already (Strange, we had breakfast there yesterday)! 2. Not asking if we'd like any condiments and when we asked for them, they didn't arrive. 3. Asking reception if they could arrange for someone to clean our table outside, told to find a member of the bar staff. 4.On leaving, told to just place our key cards in the box, no enquiry regarding enjoyment of stay. Expensive given the service provided, we will not visit again. The provision of earplugs in the room tells its own story.
