The White Star Tavern

We needed a place to stay the night before our cruise began and I searched for one that wasn’t part of a large chain of hotels. My google search led me to this small inn and I’m so glad it did. The staff were accommodating, friendly and very helpful. Our room on the first floor was small but perfectly adequate and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I had ever had! When we checked in, we were asked what time we would like a cab to pick us up the next morning. And the next morning, there was the cab, 15 minutes early. Everything about our stay was perfect. If we find ourselves in Southampton again, we know where we will be staying!

We stayed at The White Star Tavern for an evening before boarding a cruise out of Southampton and would strongly recommend others do the same! The inn is centrally located near the old town area and a very short taxi ride to the terminal. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in guiding our time in the city. The rooms and public spaces were warm and inviting and the food/drinks were excellent. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area, but will plan to stay more nights as there is quite a bit to see and do in town.

Great staff, breakfast and location for me. Definitely recommend this location for those sailing away out of Southampton. Yes it can be a bit noisy at night as you are surrounded by an area of nightlife, all part of the life, enjoy! Plus it's historic past with it's tie to the Titanic.p
