The White Swan Country Hotel

We stayed in the Governor’s Suite which is beautifully appointed, spacious, warm and super comfy. The large modern bathroom has a big walk in shower and separate bath. The bed is very comfortable. The balcony gets amazing afternoon sun and is a great spot for enjoying a glass of wine while watching the world go by on Main Street. Dinner at the Captain’s Dining Room was sensational. The wonderful friendly staff made it an all round brilliant weekend away. We’ll definitely be back!

The White Swan in Greytown offers a great mix of charm, comfort, and really tasty food. I recently visited and ordered the fish and chips followed by an ice cream sundae and both were fantastic. The fish was beautifully cooked with a golden crispy batter and the inside was perfectly flaky and tender. It tasted fresh and wasn’t greasy at all. The chips were thick-cut, hot, and crispy on the outside while soft in the middle. They were seasoned just right and paired perfectly with the tartare sauce and lemon wedge on the side. Everything was served hot and the presentation was neat and inviting. For dessert, I had the ice cream sundae and it was just what I wanted. It came with generous scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce, crushed nuts, and a cherry. Simple but satisfying. It brought that nostalgic, classic sundae feel that really hit the spot after a hearty main. The setting at The White Swan is also worth mentioning. The building has real character and the dining area has a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was quick without feeling rushed. If you are passing through Greytown and want a quality meal in a welcoming spot, The White Swan is well worth stopping for. I really enjoyed my fish and chips and the sundae was the perfect way to finish the meal

28 June 25. We had a wonderful night tonight. What stood out was the wonderful service from the staff. They were friendly, interacted well, and their service was exceptional. The meals were delicious, as was the desert. Cocktails were lovely, and it was noted the spirits were from Greytown itself- making it a little more special supporting the locals.
