Really great hotel with terrific service, they were very nice and went above and beyond for us. Room was very nice although the Hudson River paintings were a bit much, bathroom was very nice, the inventor diagrams are kind of cool. The location is much better than it seems on a map, there’s stairs up to get to Warren St. quite easily. Still, it’s not right in town. It felt very safe even late at night. But super nice staff and gets a star boost just for that. Well worth a stay.

The staff and service is impeccable, the bartender. Maria is amazing. The outside of the hotel lacks style, but the inside is nice. Rooms on the first floor tend to be noisy. The location for the Hudson area is perfectly fine. We've been there twice a little pricey, but would go back again once all renovations are done.

What these other reviews don’t mention is that you might get put in the basement for the same price as the rooms that are on normal floors. Apparently the reason they find it acceptable to charge $500/night for a basement room is that it's a "historic building." Okay that's great but maybe just don’t put people in the basement or at least not in a basement room that doesn't even have windows? Even the rooms with windows have only a view of the parking lot and a scary looking factory in back of the hotel. The Wick also has a multitude of smells ranging from toxic chemical cleaning solution to sewage, depending on whether you're in a basement room or one on the first floor. The hotel is trying to be casual chic but is a poor excuse for a Marriott charging what they are charging. I guess being next to the train station makes them feel like they don't have to do anything else for their guests? Manager was also rude. Stay elsewhere! Friends were perfectly happy at the Howard Hotel, which is right in town and much better priced.
