⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Stamford gem with one of the best English breakfasts you’ll ever have. The William Cecil is a perfect blend of comfort, character, and charm. Breakfast here is exceptional – the continental spread is fresh and beautifully presented, but the cooked English breakfast is on another level. Perfectly cooked eggs, top-quality sausages, crispy bacon, and all the trimmings done just right – easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with beds you can sink into for a great night’s sleep. The building has been modernised just enough to add comfort without losing its historic charm, and the surrounding gardens are lovely and peaceful. The staff are fantastic – attentive, warm, and helpful without ever being in your face. A highlight was the live, chilled music on a weekend afternoon, which made it hard to leave.

Update: Stayed here a second night for my last day in England. Had to catch an early afternoon flight from Heathrow, and was very worried I would not catch it in time. The chef was very accommodating and provided an earlier than usual break fast for us. Highly appreciate the kind gesture. Lovely find. The staff are all very friendly and the decor is very cozy. My son and I enjoyed the room treats like cookies and tea. The food at the breakfast was delicious.

We stayed at The William Cecil for our 14th wedding anniversary and it was perfect from start to finish. The staff are genuinely friendly, helpful, and always make you feel special — they even upgraded us to the honeymoon suite, which was such a thoughtful touch. The room was beautiful and comfortable, the food was amazing as always, and the whole atmosphere is just wonderful. This is our absolute favourite place to stay and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
