The Winchester Hotel & Spa

I held a party in the function room and booked a few rooms for family. Just wanted to say that the team were brilliant regarding all my requests for the event - nothing was too much trouble and they allowed us to really transform the space with lots of our own decorations. They recommended useful suppliers too which helped the event run seamlessly. I had a big job to set up for the party but the staff were lovely, checking in and bringing us teas & coffees! Their flexibility and helpful attitude was really appreciated and the event went really well. The rooms I booked were all clean and modern.

We checked into the Winchester the night before our cruise, which is 14 miles away, but worth it! Our first stop was in the restaurant at 4pm for high tea. The chef came out to chat with us and our server, Lauren, gave the finest service possible! Lauren suggested berry tea and it was delicious. I had 2 pots of tea because it was so wonderful. The treats with high tea were scrumptious. The salmon sandwiches were the best. The scones with clotted cream and jam were classic English fare. The fresh berries were perfect. Don't miss this experience. Our room was comfortable and lovely and looked newly refurbished. The padded headboard was plush. The only complaint was that they lock the handicapped restroom and the code to unlock it didn't work. My walker didn't fit in the regular stalls. It was a dreadful inconvenience and made me feel like handicapped people are second class citizens.

Stayed 1 night in June. Room was adequate size, bit dated but Bathroom and shower nice modern design. However we had problem with AC blowing hot air. It was SO hot all night, had to go for walk at 4am to cool down. Was offered fan but wouldn't have helped. should have swapped rooms earlier. Swim was nice, steam room not working but all was clean. Breakfast was nice. Good selection of fruit and hot food was good. But Coffee machine was very poor. but lovely waitress offered to make fresh coffee for us Olivia, Liana, Vanessa, Shannon and Ava were very helpful. So overall pleasant stay, helpful staff and nice facilities let down by bad amenities.
