The Woolpack Hotel

We had a fantastic stay here for 3 nights, while we were walking a couple of stages of the Pilgrim’s Way. Lovely room (#10) which was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds with lovely crisp white cotton bed linen - only complaint I had is that the shower cubicle was a little on the small side. Fantastic breakfast included. We were caught out that no food is served on Sunday evening, but had dinner here on one night - pies - which were very tasty. Cosy bar area.

Review for pub not hotel: Our friends are renting a house nearby while they wait to buy, so we’ve visited The Woolpack Inn in Chilham with them twice recently — both times in the rain, and both times with our dog in tow. On our first visit we came for Sunday lunch, and I had the vegetarian roast which was absolutely delicious. The second time, we shared the vegetarian wellington and the ploughman’s cheese board — both generous and full of flavour. My partner had the Dubai cheesecake for dessert and really enjoyed it. The interiors are cosy and thoughtfully done, and the whole place has a lovely, relaxed feel. A really great pub — and properly dog-friendly too.

Fascinating historic pub in a beautiful English village. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Just one small moan in that the bathroom off our room was tiny with nowhere to put anything. However the bed was comfortable and we had a lovely stay. Sadly we didn't see the ghost!
