A True Local Gem, Reimagined with Heart We had an unforgettable staycation at the Wynnstay Hotel in Oswestry to celebrate my wife’s birthday—and what a delight it was. From the sun-drenched afternoon tea on the lawn to cocktails and summer Spritzes, every moment was steeped in charm. Our dog George was warmly welcomed too, not just tolerated but genuinely catered for—a rare and lovely touch. The Coach House suite within the hotel grounds was beautiful and serene, offering the perfect base for celebration and relaxation. A superb evening meal followed by a fantastic breakfast sealed the deal. A special highlight was Claire—who’s been with the Wynnstay for an incredible 27 years—graciously singing happy birthday, adding a personal and heartfelt note to our celebrations that we’ll never forget. Thanks also to Chris, Lucie, Calin, and the entire team—attentive, responsive, and clearly committed to total guest satisfaction. They made every detail feel effortless. With outdoor movie nights and weekend events planned throughout the summer, it’s clear the Wynnstay isn’t just a hotel—it’s once again becoming the heartbeat of Oswestry. Whether it’s a coffee with friends or a full-blown event, they deliver first-class results across the board. Oswestry Wynnstay hotel’s restaurant is absolutely fabulous! We hadn’t booked but they managed to find us a table even though the restaurant was fully booked and they also had a private function on. The staff are amazing, smiles on their faces and couldn’t do enough for us which brings me to the food…. Well what can we say? It was absolutely gorgeous, freshly cooked to perfection, all delivered in a timely fashion. We would definitely recommend this wonderful hotel again and again!

The room was spacious and immaculate, unfortunately single glazed windows that don’t shut properly mean a noisy and disturbed nights sleep from the loud ongoings of the town nightlife below and from the adjoining pub. I would advise for you to ask if you’re at the front or back of the hotel before booking and take some earplugs should you be at the front - the hotel don’t stock them. It took a week for the manager to respond to my dissatisfaction which is disappointing on their part. I have stayed previously and it was lovely. Just really disappointing the second time round - even at a last minute reduced rate (which was still a lot of money), sadly, I am unlikely to stay again.
