The York Hotel

The staff were very helpful, polite, and friendly. Often greeting and checking in on me and others during our stay. Any matters I raised were quickly resolved in a satisfactory manner. They also took security very seriously. The front and back doors are fitted with a key-card lock so only customers may enter. Additionally, the staff diligently monitored hallways and who accessed the building via cameras. This was very reassuring as there were a few mothers staying with their children. The room I stayed in was spacious and fitted with a Smart TV with YouTube and Netflix pre-installed. It also had access to the app store, so I could install other apps like Pluto TV and Crunchyroll easily. The shower, toilet, and tap were in fully working order, with hot water. There were also complimentary bar soap and shower gel in case you forgot your own. There were plenty of fresh clean towels as well, The hotel is right next to the city centre, with a bus stop a mere 2 minute walk away. There are also shops and restaurants within walking distance too.

Stayed here recently and unfortunately, it wasn’t the best experience. The room was damp, fittings were loose, and cleanliness was definitely lacking. The bed sheets were questionable at best—I tried to play a game of "Guess the Stain", but honestly, I’d rather not know the answer. The car park was in a bit of a state too, which didn’t help the first impression. Overall, I’d really recommend giving this place a refresh.

I have to say this is the worst place I’ve seen in my life, absolutely terrible service. I needed to book a place urgently so I booked with this unprofessional hotel online When I arrived at the place, they said you needed photo ID which I didn’t have it on me at the time so I said can I please get a refund as I need to book another place and one the of the staff members said do it through booking.com and we’ll get you refunded. I issued my refund and gave the hotel and call and said please can you confirm my refund and they refused. They had this really rude, bad mannered, arrogant staff member who was very unprofessional and the worst customer service I’ve heard in my life. They kept my money and are not refunding me even though I did not step into the room I booked once and they not reimbursing me with anything and just keeping my money. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Terrible unprofessional hotel and terrible customer service. Absolute scammers and kept my money and not giving it back
